My career experience is in bio-pharmaceutics and engineering. I integrate ideas and concepts from many fields into what I do – branding, communications, social media, entrepreneurship. I am a quick study and curious about how things work. At present I’m creating ‘The Power in Sport’ as a hobby project to inspire and connect with people’s stories about the power in sport.
I’ve competed in over 100 triathlons, 24 marathons and numerous road-racing events (5k,10k, Half-marathons). I stay active to challenge myself so I can face the mountain, as I like to say. It’s my driving energy as a financial advisor so I can dedicate my purpose in life: helping clients reduce their exposure to risk, and ultimately plan for retirement.
Since 2001, I have worked with Key Innovations helping companies to get noticed and be memorable in their marketing. The communication and leadership skills I have developed have been essential to my personal growth and success in the sales profession.
I hold a brown belt in kickboxing and I enjoy hiking and cycling. I love to travel but there is no place in the world like beautiful British Columbia.
I began my career with the Royal Bank, spending fifteen years in financial services, including venture capital. I have lead, guided and trained others in worthwhile fundraising projects as a consultant, including corporate sponsorships, and major donor development. I enjoy facilitating, consulting and coaching leaders.
I have benefitted from the Toastmaster International training programs and earned the right to represent British Columbia in the “World Championship of Public Speaking” as a finalist, one of the top nine speakers in the Toastmasters world in 2010.
